Blue Dot Clearance at DG

Ok, so I went into Dollar General today to pick up some syrup that is part of the Quaker buy 2 get $2 off promotion (will have to do a separate post about that in a bit), and lucked into some great winter clearance. The clearance was effective today and goes as follows:

*All blue dot infant, grey dot and pink dot 70% off
*All blue dot not infant 90% off

I was able to score 5 outfits for just $10, instead of the $100 the would cost regular price. Always just buy one size up and we are good to go on a winter wardrobe for next year.

Freebies at the Ball Park

If you keep your eyes peeled and seize the opportunity, you can snag great freebies and coupons just about anywhere. When leaving the Washington Nationals game this weekend (more on that in another post promise :), we ran into these company reps handing out free samples of Science Diet cat food. We snagged 4 bags, however only two are pictured as my DD just had to give the kitties some as soon as we got home. The coupons are great as well, and are for a free bag of cat treats and a free can of cat food. And there are $5 off a bag of cat food Qs on the sample bags. These are decent sized sample bags as well. Just keep your eyes peeled folks, you never know when a great freebie or Q could come your way.

National Parks Free Entrance

With the weather warming up, we are always looking for ways to get out and enjoy the free time we do have. So on one of these quests to find some great free family activities, I stumbled on the free entrance days to the national parks. What better way to enjoy the warm weather than to visit with Mother Nature? There are several dates that all parks honor free entrance, such as the upcoming National Park Week, April 22 through April 26, so be sure to get out and enjoy the sunshine. Visit National Park Service Free Entrance to check on the free entrance to parks in your area and plan your getaway in your own backyard.

Dollar General Trip 04.06.13

So I confess, with life getting a little busier I have not made it to a $5/$25 for the last couple of times they had one. So I was determined to make it to this one . My savings came to about 75%, which is ok although I would have loved for it to be like some of my fellow WUCkies and only had to pay tax . But I did get some things we really needed at our house (I was on my last box of trash bags *gasp*), so it is all good.

First transaction:

2 Nivea Body Lotion @ $3 each = $6
2 Poise Cooling Roller Gel @ $3.50 each = $7
6 Gain fabric softener sheets @ $2 = $12

Total= $25

Qs used:

$5 DG Q
2 Nivea @ $2 = $4
2 Gain @ $2/2= $4
2 Gain @ $1/1 = $2
2 Poise @ $3 = $6

Total after Qs = $4 plus the $1 tax = $5 paid with my paypal

Second transaction:

Hefty trash bags @ $2.75 each = $11
1 Nivea body lotion @ $3
2 Poise @ $3.50 = $7
4 Palmolive @ $1 =$4

Total = $25

Qs used:

$5 DG Q
1 Nivea @ $2
2 Poise @ $3 = $6
4 Palmolive @ $.50 = $2

Total after Qs= $10 plus $1 tax paid OOP

Not my best, but I will take it to get the better prices on things we were low on.

Free Duncan HInes Flavor packets

Anyone else snag these great Qs in their 03.17.13 SS? I was super excited to see these in mine. With bake sale season upon us, these will really come in handy.

And really, as my manager at my "day" job said, how many bubble gum frosted cupcakes can you eat? Well, guess what, these flavor packets can be used for so much more than just mixing in with the frosting. My mother mixes the key lime flavor into her cheesecake mix, adds a bit of sugar and voila! Instant key lime cheesecake.

For even more great recipes with the free flavor packets you can score visit Duncan Hines recipes.

Anyone else have any great recipes with the flavor packets? Let us know in the comments below.

Disney DVD Replacement Program

How many DVDs ave you pitched because they were broken or too badly scratched to play righ, only to turn right around and repurchase the same DVD because it was one you really did like or the kids just could not live without (LOL)? I was unaware until just recently that Disney has a great exchange program for those DVDs that are boken or scratched, to replace those DVDs at a fraction of the cost. For just $6.95 for DVDs or $8.95 for Blu-Ray, you can send them your damaged or broken item for a replacement.

Visit Disney Studio Help for more information about this great program.
